Meet Danae

She/Her/Hers

Do you feel out of control? Do you find yourself continuing to turn to different coping skills that never seem to work? Are you having feelings of hopelessness?

One of the hardest things to do is acknowledge that you are worthy of recovery.

I am committed to helping you identify and navigate your feelings, find healthier coping skills, and learn how to have hope again. Healing is possible and I hope to be by your side every step of the way.

Everyone has experienced life differently and I look forward to learning about the experiences and relationships that have shaped you into who you are. I am here to support you and create a safe space for you to process, heal, and grow. I am ready to meet you wherever you are.

Meet Danae

My approach:

I am passionate about working with adolescents and young adults struggling with eating disorders, body image distress, addiction, personality disorders, self-harm, trauma, anxiety, and depression. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to open up and find hope and healing.

I believe that every person is unique and deserving of a unique plan. For that reason, I start by asking what you want to get out of therapy. Once I learn more about your needs, I will work from a person-centered, solution-focused, dialectal behavioral, or cognitive-behavioral therapy approach.

Together we will work to find the best approach for you!

Education & Credentials

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) with experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings with individuals aged 12+. I have received dialectical behavior therapy training for both group and individual sessions and often incorporate skills into my sessions, if appropriate. I am currently being supervised to receive my certification to become an eating disorder specialist (CEDS).

I received my bachelor's degree in Social Work at The University of Alabama with a minor in criminal justice. I then obtained my master's degree in clinical Social Work from the University of Houston with a specialization in health and behavioral health.
